Hootenanny shout out!
Adam Saunders is a founding member of the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture. As the public outreach coordinator, he's been busy securing sponsorship for this year's Hootenanny and would like to give the 2014 sponsors a blog-style thank you.
The Harvest Hootenanny is an annual community event to celebrate local foods and educational efforts to help people engage in home gardens and the field of agriculture. A great number of partners join in to support the effort, all in their own unique way.
In 2014, we’re excited to bring on three new partners: the Columbia Area Career Center who will be coordinating the cooking and serving; Sustainable Farms and Communities who will be coordinating the beirgarten and home brew competition; and Southern Boone Learning Garden will be leading our children's games.
We also have an impressive number of business sponsors that are helping by donating items for the Raffle and/or Live Auction, or sponsoring CCUA with cash or in-kind donations. We are grateful for the support from our community sponsors! Some old-faithful partners back on board this year include: REMI, Westlake ACE Hardware, Shelter Insurance, Klunk, Broadway Brewery, St. James Winery, Voorheis Auction & Realty, Dogwood Solar, Kilgore's Medical Pharmacy, The Wine Cellar & Bistro, and Happy Hollow Farm. Thank you all for your ongoing support!
Some new faces to the block this year include: Chews Your Health, Lucky's Market, Dog Master Distillery, The Bank of Missouri, The Blue Note, COMO Landscape Maintenance, and Chance Encounters Photography.
Furthermore; We love to thank our organizational partners; The Heart of Missouri United Way, Missouri Foundation for Health, AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps VISTA and Missouri River Communities Network.
Please help us say thank you by choosing these vendors and telling them thank you for providing support to the Center for Urban Agriculture. This positive feedback from the broader community helps us continue our partnership in the years to come and builds a stronger sense of community in Columbia.
