VA Work Study Student Position
Work with our Veterans Urban Farm as a work study student! This is a very flexible position where you will gain valuable experience in service, agriculture, program management, event planning, outreach, and self-development.
Eligibility:
Must be using and actively enrolled with GI bill benefits
Must be at least 3/4 time in school aka 9+ credit hours in Spring/Fall or 5+ in Summer semester
Must be comfortable working outside and getting dirty

Natural Resources Intern at Columbia’s Agriculture Park
CCUA is looking to host a Natural Resources Intern for the 2025 Growing Season at Columbia’s Agriculture Park. This intern will work to maintain the variety of the Agriculture Park’s perennial demonstration landscapes, where conservation of native species is a large focus. These diversified ecosystems include our one-acre stormwater retention basin, populated with aquatic plants, a forest edge garden, and a food forest which integrates native, edible trees and shrubs, native wildflowers, and various edible non-natives. Must be a current student, including those soon to graduate, to apply.

Veterans Urban Farm Farmhand Apprentice
The Farmhand Apprenticeship position with CCUA’s Veterans Urban Farm seeks to offer a learning experience for Veterans passionate about working outside, sustainable food systems, and growing their own food. The Apprenticeship is designed to prepare Veterans who need a gateway into the workforce. During the Apprenticeship, the Farmhand will learn sustainable and regenerative agriculture methods of vegetable production, landscaping, food safety, and other hands-on skills while working alongside the Veterans Urban Farm Manager. The Veterans Urban Farm Manager will direct the Farmhand Apprentice towards projects, allowing the Apprentice to hone the skills needed to prepare for a desired job/career.
Farm to School Coordinator 2025-26
Note: This position is employed by Columbia Public Schools not CCUA. The Farm to School Coordinator will work closely and collaborate with the Director of Nutrition Services, the district Coordinators of Science, and Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture (CCUA) to provide instruction and training on Farm to School-related activities for students in grades K-12. This role promotes sustainable agriculture, healthy eating, and farm-to-table practices by integrating local agriculture into school curriculums and food programs.
