Resources: For Teachers

The Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture is dedicated to working with local schools. The needs of individual educators are diverse. Whether you are an elementary school teacher or a High school teacher we want to help you develop lessons that will fit into your curriculum.

If you are interested in having us come to your school or visiting our gardens please contact us and we can set up an individual plan to meet your needs. We have developed several fun gardening related activities for elementary students. We have experience teaching lessons on:

  • Composting
  • Gardening
  • Vermi-composting (worms)

There are many websites that offer activities for classrooms. Please contact us if you need advice and guidance on implementing gardening curriculum in your classroom. Please send all comments or questions about gardening in the classroom to education@columbiaurbanag.org.
