One of the primary barriers to having more citizens of Columbia engaged in food production is the knowledge and confidence needed to successfully manage a garden and compost system that can sustain soil fertility. CCUA will help local growers gain this knowledge and hone their skills by teaching formal classes through the University of Missouri Service Learning Department, hosting regular onsite workshops, giving tours of gardens, training seasonal interns, and going out into the community to do presentations on gardening and composting.
