Sustain Mizzou Research Farm

Sustain Mizzou Research Farm The first installment of the CCUA Garden of the Month is our very own "Sustain Mizzou Research Farm". This site was established by volunteers from student group Sustain Mizzou in the spring of 2008. This site is now co-managed by Sustain Mizzou and CCUA.

The Sustain Mizzou Research Farm is on the corner of East Ash and St. Joseph streets in downtown Columbia (two blocks north of Broadway, one block west of College, map). The research farm sits on a ___ sqft lot, has ___ sqft of garden beds, and ___ sqft of greenhouse growing space.

This use of this site has been generously donated by Mark Stevenson of REMI real estate.

Garden Objectves:

  • Showcase the diversity of crops that can be grown in Columbia
  • Provide gardeners at all skill levels a place to volunteer and learn more about intensive agriculture
  • Serve as a teaching tool for group tours, workshops, and regular classes
  • Grow food for CCUA volunteers and for sale
  • Facilitate student research of food production and composting
  • Add to the asethetice appeal of the neighborhood
